Grass Skirt for Marley

Marley loved her grass skirt, coconut shells and necklace from Papa.
"Thank you Papa Rich"
I sure do miss her.

Red Jeep

While my Subaru was in the shop for repairs this sweet
red jeep was my rental for a week.
Lots of fun driving around the island.

"Aloha Papa"

Summer Street Art Vendors

Maybe someday I will have my own booth!

Love these coconut guys.

Night Shift

I am really enjoying my new job...learning so much.
I work 3 night shifts a week.
I'm learning to read a lot of gauges, meters, emergency procedures,
run generators on power outages, etc....

It felt so surreal being here in Hawaii, at this beautiful resort,
hearing the ocean and the lights on the pool while walking around the pool
one evening on my night shift
Marley, look at this big snail Papa found!
I have to be careful walking around the pool or I will step on these
frogs and snails.  Eeeew!

Homeless....Sort'a

The apartment I have arrangements to rent is not available till June 1st.
so each night my sleeping arrangements have been a little challenging.
My 1st night was at the Kauai Beach resort, then
my boss let me rent a furnished condo for 2 nights,
then a Bishop invited me to camp at the Father and Sons outing
(where I slept in my hammock)
we learned to throw fishing nets into the ocean and played tug-o-war,
a 10x10 bungalow at the Anahata Sanctuary-A Spiritual B&B retreat
with "Like Minded People"
for a wk and then into the main part of the house at the retreat.
photos of the Spiritual retreat "here"
My Sleeping Temple....no, really that is what they call it.
I wake up to sounds of rain dropping on the large Kalo Leaves,
a light breeze, geckos scurring around "laughing" and of course
the feral chickens, especially the wild rooster.

St. Regis Resort

Pretty sweet for my first employed JOB in 16 years!!
I love my job and the people I am working with.
I have been learning so much.
I feel like a secret agent with my uniform, head piece and radio on.
Compared to working construction plumbing my thoughts were,
"You call this working?"
At orientation I was being taught verbiage we are expected to use
Spectacular
Aloha
Enjoy Your Stay
We are expected to smile and make eye contact if in 10 ft.
and within 5 ft. say "Aloha" or "Good Morning"

What Do I Do To Celebrate Turning 50......?

 Get a job at a 5-Star Resort,
sell my things, give more away, spend time with my children and my sweet  Marley,
pack my few remains into the Snappy-mobil and park it at my sister's,
finish up last plumbing jobs and spend more time with my children and family.
So proud of these young men; Chad, Levi (me) Blake and Luke
Daughter-in-laws; Uni & Brithany

My baby girl Marley with her Papa

All that I am taking with me are in these 5 suitcases!
I spend my last night on the "mainland" at my sister's home in Malad.
She drives to the SLC airport on May 13, 2014
where I board my flight at 11 am to Seattle, then to LA.....
Told mom, "Feel like I am going on a mission again"
and then onto KAUAI, HAWAII!!!
Can't wait for visitors.
